Roche in Tucson seeks a Histotechnician Specialist to support histology, performing routine and advanced techniques with high professional standards and strict adherence to safety and documentation practices.

You will embed tissue, microtomy, staining on automated platforms, ensure quality control, assist with validations and training, and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment to deliver reliable results.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (or 60 credits) in lab science/histology with HT ASCP and 4 years histology experience.
• Bachelor's degree with HT/HTL ASCP and 2 years histology experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Solid knowledge of IHC theory, routine histology, troubleshooting, and QC documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity histology tasks including embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, processing, primary (H&E) staining, cryotomy, cell block preparation, and grossing of clinical biopsy samples.
• Execute special and advanced staining techniques on automated platforms, performing antibody titers, dilutions, and reagent lot verification staining.
• Adhere to quality standards, maintaining equipment calibration and compliance with regulatory frameworks (OSHA, NMPA, FDA, QSR, ISO, GMP).
• Document receipt, quarantine, storage, and disbursement of clinical materials; assist with non-conformance investigations and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement by participating in 6S activities, Lean tools, standard work, and process improvements to optimize cycle times.
• Collaborate across teams; assist training of new employees; maintain reliable attendance in an essential operational role.
