Job description

We are seeking Histology Professionals to join the LabCorp team, dedicated to providing high-quality medical laboratory services. Work in our Pathology laboratory located in Raritan, NJ, alongside a highly trained staff using the latest technology. Our services are performed with utmost care, expertise, integrity, and respect for patients.

Work Schedule:

Per Diem, weekdays/weekends as needed

Job Responsibilities:

1. Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination
2. Perform duties related to producing histopathological slides of surgical specimens
3. Section embedded tissue with a microtome and mount on slides
4. Conduct immunohistochemical tests on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues
5. Process sections through routine and special staining procedures
6. Properly orient and embed surgical tissue specimens
7. Prepare stains and reagents for special procedures
8. Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care
9. Operate and maintain manual and automated instruments
10. Perform and document equipment maintenance and quality control
11. Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and procedures
12. Handle specimens according to lab protocols, document issues, and perform corrective actions

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Chemical or Biological sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements
• Histology and/or ASCP certifications preferred
• State license as applicable
• Previous histology experience is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment
• Immunohistochemistry experience is a plus
• Comfort with embedding various specimen sizes
• Ability to accurately read labels and documents
• Highly organized with attention to detail
• Experience in high-volume labs and familiarity with SOPs and safety protocols
• Must pass a color vision screen
