Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH seeks a Histotechnician to receive, process, and prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination by a Pathologist. You will ensure specimens are logged, prioritized, and processed to high standards in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with AS preferred and HT certification if possible. Experience in histology and strong attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• Associate of Science degree preferred.
• Histotechnician HT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs histological procedures including accessioning, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
• Assists Pathologist in the gross examination of surgical specimens and in frozen section procedures.
• Reports accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
