Job summary

Unio Health Partners is seeking a Histotechnician II - Pathology in California. This on-site position supports tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and quality control for pathologists and researchers.

Schedule is Monday through Friday 5am–11am, totaling 30 hours weekly. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor or AS/AA in science or chemistry, at least five years in an anatomic pathology lab, and HT/HTL certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or degree in a scientific/chemistry field, or AS/AA in science or chemistry preferred
• Five years of experience in an anatomic pathology laboratory with gross, embedding, cutting, staining
• ASCP Histotechnician (HT) certification preferred
• Knowledge of CDPH, CLIA, CAP, and State and Federal laws that apply to duties in a moderate to high complexity laboratory
• Knowledge of histological techniques, staining methods, and laboratory equipment

Responsibilities

• Accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, and cutting blocks of all pathology specimens.
• Assume responsibility for daily participation in the routine operation of the histology laboratory as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
• Troubleshoot histology equipment and communicate problems to the laboratory supervisor.
• Maintains daily records and equipment maintenance logs as required by CAP/CLIA regulations and policies.
• Checks all work for accuracy and quality.
• Data entry for Vital Access Lab information system.
