Job summary

The US Architect of the Capitol, Library Buildings & Grounds, Tenant Services Division, Projects Branch, Painting Night Section, is seeking a Painter-Refinisher to refinishi doors, door frames and other woodwork, including projects with historic colors, complex striping, designs and panel refinishing.

Work involves preparing surfaces, applying stains and protective coatings, and producing a final finish that matches documented samples with attention to detail and quality, under supervision as

Qualifications

• Must perform Painter-Refinisher duties with minimal supervision.
• Experience restoring historic wood surfaces with proper stripping, sanding and repairs.
• Experience applying stains, varnishes, oils, paints, and coatings.
• Ability to match final finish to samples in color, grain and sheen.
