Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Historical & Museum Commission seeks a skilled Maintenance Repairman 1 to provide building maintenance, custodial support, and groundskeeping at Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum in Lancaster County.

This full-time role involves hands-on work across multiple trades, supports a historic site with public programs, and follows a Tue-Sat 4:00 PM–12:00 AM schedule. A PA Class C Driver's License is required; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in general maintenance across at least two trades.
• Experience with building, electrical, or mechanical systems is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on structures and building systems.
• Mow, trim, snow removal, and seasonal groundskeeping activities.
• Operate and maintain tools and machinery needed for daily tasks.
• Keep museum areas clean, safe, and ready for visitors and programs.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for special events.
