Job summary

Fairfax County Park Authority is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee Sully Historic Site operations and support Colvin Run Mill Historic Site. The role requires leading a crew, coordinating daily tasks, and ensuring safety and training compliance.

You will work outdoors, operate and supervise power equipment, and assist in snow removal and emergency responses. The position involves reporting, timekeeping, and occasional location transfers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years’ maintenance experience.
• Driver's license required; CPR/First Aid within 6 months; pesticide and fertilizer licenses within 12 months; chainsaw training within 12 months.
• Ability to operate power equipment and work outdoors in varied weather.

Responsibilities

• Leads, inspects, and reviews the work of a crew engaged in maintenance activities.
• Estimates material quantities and prepares work reports and time records.
• Ensures safety procedures are followed and crew trained on equipment.
• Responds to emergencies including snow, flooding and other incidents.
• Oversees dispatching, timekeeping, and coordination of crews as needed.
• Performs duties in absence of supervisor and supports safety topics.
