Job summary

Durable Restoration is seeking an experienced Assistant Construction Manager to join our restoration team. This role blends project management with active on-site supervision on historic preservation projects, ensuring craftsmanship and safety.

You will work closely with the lead Construction Manager, overseeing skilled craftsmen and subcontractors while maintaining site documentation and schedules. Ideal candidates bring multi-year field experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to

Qualifications

2+ years of construction experience with supervisory/lead role.
Foundational management and on-site supervision.
Ability to read drawings and support project schedules.
Strong interest in historic restoration and preservation principles.

Responsibilities

Direct day-to-day restoration and construction operations on commercial historic properties.
Maintain on-site presence to coordinate subcontractors and supervise in-house crews.
Assign daily tasks, monitor quality, and manage subcontractor sequencing to avoid bottlenecks.
Enforce safety standards across all site activities and heights.
Coordinate arrival and staging of restoration materials at site.
Maintain field reports, track milestones and assist with RFIs and paperwork.
