Job summary

Durable Restoration in Savage, MD is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead historic restoration projects. You will collaborate with project management and skilled craftsmen to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

This role requires 2+ years of construction management, preferably in historic properties. We provide paid training to develop technical and administrative skills unique to our work, with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction management experience; historic restoration or commercial project experience preferred.
• Dual team leadership: manage direct-hire employees and subcontractors.
• On-site presence to supervise field operations in varied outdoor conditions.
• Comfort with high-altitude tasks and working at height.
• Physically capable to climb, stand long periods, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read drawings and manage RFIs/schedules.
• Preservation-minded with attention to historic materials and craftsmanship.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Historic Preservation Projects: Direct and manage restoration operations on historic properties.
• On-Site Field Management: Coordinate subcontractors and supervise in-house crews.
• Workforce Labor Scheduling: Assign tasks and monitor quality, manage sequencing.
• Safety & Compliance Enforcement: Enforce safety standards across all work phases.
• Material & Delivery Management: Coordinate arrival and staging of restoration materials.
• Daily Field Reporting: Track milestones, RFIs, and site bottlenecks.
• Client Communication & Coordination: Serve as primary contact for clients and provide updates.
