Job summary

Skilled Trades Partners in Hartford, CT is seeking an experienced Mason for a full-time, permanent role with an established contractor specializing in historic restoration and preservation projects across Connecticut and New England.

You will perform brick, block and stone masonry, restoration, repointing, and matching existing materials on interior and exterior surfaces, while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship on architecturally significant buildings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional masonry experience preferred.
• Experience with brick, block, stone and mortar.
• Experience with restoration or historic masonry is highly preferred.
• Ability to match existing masonry and produce clean, detailed work.
• Knowledge of traditional masonry techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform brick, block, and stone masonry work
• Repair and restore existing historic masonry
• Repoint brick and stone using appropriate techniques
• Remove and replace deteriorated masonry materials
• Match existing brick, stone, mortar, and finishes
• Perform masonry repairs on walls, foundations, chimneys, facades, and other structures
• Mix and apply mortar while maintaining proper joint profiles
• Work carefully around existing historic materials and architectural features
• Complete both interior and exterior masonry restoration
