Job summary

Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey, historic sites of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, seeks Events Staff to support the Events and Development Manager in hosting private events and site/facility rentals to ensure high quality customer service and flawless execution of events at the site. The hourly wage for the position is $20.00 per hour.

This is a part time, hourly position. Private events are generally held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from April through November, with shifts that

Qualifications

• Ability to commit to a full shift (2 pm–midnight) or a half shift (4 pm–7 pm or 5 pm–midnight) typically on Fri–Sun.
• Experience in events or hospitality with client, vendor, and guest interactions.
• Previous museum/historic or cultural setting experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic problem-solving, ability to identify and prioritize issues.
• Ability to engage with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
• Flexible in a dynamic environment; regular and reliable attendance.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and evenings; outdoor work in varying weather.
• Physical ability to stand, walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs, and lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Represent Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey, providing a positive guest experience and monitoring the site during events.
• Prepare the event rental area at start and ensure post-event cleanliness and condition.
• Coordinate with vendors during events and assist with program flow and scheduling.
• Monitor security and visitor safety; respond calmly to incidents and notify supervisors.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and uphold museum event guidelines and values.
• Offer site/facility tours as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
