Qualifications

• 3 - 6 months public contact and/or sales experience
• Knowledge of Colonial Williamsburg and 18th‑century history
• Ability to research and document interpretive information
• Contribute to team effort
• Operate equipment required for the operation
• Handle money accurately
• Good arithmetic skills
• Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: lifting, standing for long periods, stairs

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide information about products.
• Promotes and sells merchandise by assisting customers with selections.
• Performs cashiering duties.
• Replenishes and checks in stock.
• Interprets the history of 18th-century Williamsburg and the colony of Virginia at Historic Area Stores.
• Participates in on-the-job and selling skills training programs.
• Works outdoors, as required, in all weather conditions.
• Maintains sanitary standards with food, bagging and packaging products for sale.
