Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Trainer-Histology to design and deliver training for new hires and existing staff in the clinical laboratory, under direction from leadership. The role ensures all team members are trained, competent, and compliant with regulatory guidelines, with emphasis on histology processes and technology.

The trainer will develop materials, conduct in-person and virtual sessions, assess learner needs, and maintain accurate training records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• 1+ years of instructor-led training experience in laboratory or similar settings.
• 2+ years laboratory experience with HIPAA, GLP, GDP knowledge and histology exposure.
• Strong computer skills: internet, teams/Zoom, email, word processing, data/records management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and document new hire and ongoing in-person/virtual training per regulatory guidelines.
• Create and maintain training materials and exams; perform observations and competency evaluations.
• Schedule trainings and track learner completions; document in records systems.
• Assess learners' needs and tailor training plans; ensure training effectiveness and competency.
