Job summary

Abbott in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Histotechnologist I to perform tissue slide preparation and support duties in a CLIA/CAP-certified histopathology lab. You will follow SOPs, engage with pathologists, and maintain equipment while ensuring high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires compliance with safety, quality controls, and laboratory procedures, with a schedule of evenings and potential weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program, 2+ years of laboratory experience (one year of experience can be counted from the program).
• Or Associate Degree in a scientific field, 2+ years of laboratory experience.
• Or Bachelor Degree in a scientific field.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Label FFPE blocks, slides, and tubes per SOP.
• Routine sectioning, fixation, and processing for H&E staining.
• Prepare and perform DNA/RNA extraction procedures.
• Enter data into LIS and IMS.
• Maintain histology equipment and QC records.
• Interact with pathologists and lab staff to ensure timely processing.
• Perform H&E staining and tissue processing tasks.
