Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
• Fundamental knowledge of histotechnique including fixation, decalcification, processing, embedding, and routine staining.
• ASCP HT or HTL certification preferred but not required; preferred candidates have these credentials.

Responsibilities

• Performs tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and slide mounting for microscopic analysis.
• Maintains tissue control library and ensures proper labeling and tracking for patient safety.
• Performs preventative maintenance and quality control of microtomes and processors; manages staining solutions.
• Ensures PPE adherence and maintains clean, safe work area following hospital policies.
