Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Histology Tech to develop and monitor activity in the Histology Lab and Morgue, handling receiving, prepared and processing of surgical specimens for patients. The candidate must have a HS diploma or GED, ASCP HT/HTL certification, and at least 1 year of histology experience, with a color-acuity screening test required.

Preferred candidates may have a science degree and related training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education.
• Current HT/HTL Certification through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
• One (1) year experience as a Histology Tech.
• Color-Acuity screening Test required.

REQUIRED

1. High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education
2. Current HT/HTL Certification through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
3. One (1) year experience as a Histology Tech.
4. All applicants must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test.

PREFERRED

1. Immuno chemistry experience and/or training.
2. Bachelor''s degree in science, plus successful completion of a formal histology tech program
3. Attention to detail, good physical dexterity, and good written and oral communication skills.
