Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA is seeking a histology technician to receive, prepare and process surgical specimens for patients, performing routine histological functions in a high-volume pathology lab.

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent, ASCP certification or eligibility with exam within 18 months, and Color-Acuity screening. PREFERRED: immuno-chemistry experience, a B.S. in science, and strong attention to detail and communication.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education
• Current HT/HTL certification through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) OR must be ASCP eligible AND must pass exam within 18 months of obtaining eligibility.
• All applicants must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test.

PREFERRED

• Immuno-chemistry experience and/or training.
• B.S. degree in science, plus successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program.
• Attention to detail, good physical dexterity, and good written and oral communication skills.
