Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking an experienced Histology Tech Supervisor to oversee shift operations within the Laboratory, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely pathology services for diverse patient populations.

The role requires ASCP HT/HTL certification, 4 years as Histology Tech with 2 years in leadership, and a color-acuity screen. Preferred BS in science, MS Office skills, and strong communication and teamwork. On-site position at Northside Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Current HT/HTL certification through ASCP.
• Four (4) years of experience as a Histology Tech, with two (2) years of laboratory supervisor experience.
• Color-Acuity screening required.

Responsibilities

• Implements, plans, organizes, and staffs the work activities of the Laboratory during each shift.
• Provides laboratory services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Collaborates with various departments, medical staff and others to assure appropriate pathology systems, techniques and procedures.

Implements, plans, organizes, and staffs the work activities of the Laboratory during each shift to provide laboratory services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Collaborates with various departments, medical staff and others as necessary to assure that pathology systems, techniques and procedures are appropriate for departmental services.

REQUIRED

1. High School diploma or GED
2. Current HT/HTL certification through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
3. Four (4) years of experience as a Histology Tech, with two (2) years of laboratory supervisor experience.
4. All applicants must submit to a Color-Acuity screening

PREFERRED

1. BS degree in science
2. Computer skills: knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel): basic statistics skills.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
