Job summary

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, LLC is seeking a Histology Technician to perform duties in the histology laboratory, producing high quality slides from patient tissues for examination by pathologists. The role includes accessioning specimens, grossing, tissue processing (embedding, cutting, staining), equipment maintenance, and adherence to HIPAA and CAP/CLIA requirements.

Candidates should hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in science and have 0–2+ years of related experience, with fluent

Qualifications

Associate degree in a chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
CAP/CLIA training equivalent as specified by CAP/CLIA.
Bachelor’s degree in science.
0-2+ years related experience.

Responsibilities

Accessioning of surgical specimens in the laboratory information system (LIS) as needed.
Grossing of routine surgical specimens as approved by the pathologist or medical director.
Tissue processing including embedding, cutting, and staining.
Performance and recording of equipment maintenance.
May move items of moderate weight (20-25 lbs).
Complies with HIPAA and regulatory requirements (CAP/CLIA).
Maintains safe environment and quality in histology lab.
