Job summary

GI Alliance is seeking a Histotechnician/HTL to perform embedding, microtomy, staining, and filing in the histology lab. You will support lab operations, prepare specimens, and ensure accuracy in testing records.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and a science-focused associate degree for high-complexity testing, with CLIA 88 readiness. The role requires reliability, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in science or equivalent required for high complexity testing.
• Education/training to support CLIA 88 requirements for testing personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide back up for Lab Assistant duties.
• Gross*, embed, cut, and stain tissue according to procedures.
• Perform routine and specialized histology tissue, slide prep and staining.
• Complete assigned workload within prescribed time limits.
• Prepare reagents for tissue processing and slide staining.
• Maintain legible, accurate logs and records of testing.
• Distribute slides to pathologists.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Troubleshoot procedures and instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality control and QA standards.
• Comply with local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
