Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of specialized histological procedures.
• Receives and verifies specimens with correct patient information.
• Prepares and maintains tissue processors and embedding blocks.
• Operates microtome and ensures proper sectioning and orientation.
• Performs H&E staining and evaluates staining quality.
• Prepares slides with permanent labels and files appropriately.
• Maintains safety practices per OSHA and universal precautions.
• Assists in evaluating new procedures and equipment.
