Job summary

Centers for Advanced Urology in King of Prussia, PA is seeking a Histotechnologist to prepare tissue for microscopic examination. You will embed, section, stain, and mount slides, and perform immunohistochemistry as directed by a Pathologist.

You will train Laboratory Assistants, maintain equipment and quality controls, ensure CAP/CLIA compliance, and uphold HIPAA and safety standards. The role requires an ASCP-registered tech with an associate degree; bachelor\'s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Licensure required by State.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sections of human tissue for microscopic examination and patient diagnosis, embedding, cutting, staining, and mounting.
• Perform recuts and additional stains including special and immunohistochemistry stains as requested by a Pathologist.
• Operate histology equipment to fix, dehydrate, and infiltrate with wax for preservation.
• Label requisitions, specimen containers, cassettes and slides; maintain daily cleaning and quality controls.
• Train Laboratory Assistants and Histology staff in testing and processing techniques.
• Comply with CAP/CLIA/HIPAA/OSHA regulations and maintain safety and confidentiality.
