Responsibilities

• Accession specimens, label, and prepare tissue sections for testing.
• Embed tissue in paraffin and manage tissue blocks and slides.
• Process tissue to preserve and infiltrate with paraffin.
• Perform stains, immunohistochemistry, and slide preparation.
• Manage workflow for recuts, stains, and control slides per protocols.
• Document quality control results and take corrective action as needed.
• Clean, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair lab instruments.
• Assist pathologists during frozen section procedures.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting standards.
• Provide assistance to pathologists, externs, and team members.
