Job summary

Avera Health is seeking a Histotechnician to join the histology team at Avera McKennan Hospital. The position involves routine histology work, slide preparation, and processing of tissue samples under supervision.

You will contribute to accurate diagnostic support for pathologists. The role requires an Associate’s degree with chemistry/biology coursework or eligibility for histology certification, and offers a stable daytime schedule with rotating call.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher with chemistry/biology coursework as relevant.
• HT certification or eligibility is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for slide preparation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine histology procedures including embedding, cutting, staining and coverslipping.
• Process specimens for cytology and special stains as required.
• Enter and track specimens in the laboratory information system.
