Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of clinical laboratory experience including instrument operation, specimen processing, and microbiology processing.
• Two years of training in a Histology Lab under direct supervision of a Histotech required.
• Five years of clinical laboratory experience or two years of college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare human tissue for microscopic investigation by pathologists, including sectioning, staining, slide placement and drying.
• Monitor and reorder supplies; order reagents and equipment for new procedures; answer inquiries regarding pathology matters.
• Verify patient information on requisitions and specimens; transport specimens to the pathology laboratory as needed; label requisitions and containers properly.
