Job summary

IDEXX is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in the Histology department to support tissue sample processing and digital slide management for veterinary diagnostics. You will help sort and prepare samples, maintain whole slide scanners, and ensure high-quality digital slides for pathologists.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a histology lab is a plus.
• Ability to work the listed schedule and in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to handle veterinary tissue samples with care.

Responsibilities

• Input sample information in the laboratory database.
• Stock benches with needed materials.
• Run equipment to prep samples for histology technicians.
• Pack samples for storage.
• Deliver casework to remote pathologists.
• Maintain and troubleshoot VM systems for remote viewing.
• Organize and archive VM cases.
• Track VM system errors.
• Troubleshoot VM system issues with pathologists, labs, vendors, IT, and others.
• Assist with various administrative tasks.
