Labcorp seeks a Histology Supervisor at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. The role leads the Histology department, oversees daily operations, and ensures timely, accurate test results.

You will mentor staff, coordinate staffing across shifts, enforce CLIA/CAP compliance, and contribute to process improvements within a high-volume clinical lab environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science, histology, clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• 5+ years of experience as a Histotechnologist/Histotechnician.
• Bachelor’s degree and ASCP certification preferred.

Labcorp is seeking a Histology Supervisor to join our team at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the day to day operations of the Histology department
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage
• Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
• Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
• Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
• Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations
• Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations
• Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
• Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
• Perform administrative duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Histology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• 5 years of experience or more as a Histotechnologist/Histotechnician

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Histology, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
• 6 months or more of supervising or leading a team
• Histology and/or ASCP certifications

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
• Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment
• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Experience in a high volume clinical laboratory environment
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay Range

**Pay Range: $90,000 - $125,000 annually All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
