Job Summary

The person in this position is a Lab Assistant I who accurately performs various functions in the histology lab.

Essential Functions

• Coordinates surgical case paperwork and slides for delivery to pathologists.
• Manages SSR orders.
• Loads and removes slides from stainers.
• Retrieves needed slides and blocks from files.
• Packages slides and blocks for return to outside facilities.
• Files blocks and slides.
• Prints slide labels.
• Performs lab cleaning and equipment maintenance.
• Exercises all laboratory safety precautions and adheres to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.
• Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with industry’s best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect sensitive information.
• Familiar with and abides by the Corporate Compliance Program and all policies, including Privacy and Security policies.
