Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Histology team is seeking a caregiver to enter specimen information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and perform advanced processing in a 12:00pm–8:30pm shift. You will accession specimens, prepare slides, and support esoteric testing under supervision.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree (science preferred) and at least two years of lab processing experience, with MLS program enrollment acceptable as a substitute for education/experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (preferably in science) required.
• Two years of lab processing experience required.
• Active enrollment in the Cleveland Clinic MLS program may substitute the education and experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Enter and accession specimens into the LIS with accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform advanced manual processing and problem-solving in laboratory accessioning and data entry.
• Create slides and duties related to subspecialty client liaison.
• Be familiar with data analytics and track LIS logs.
• Conduct higher level accessioning including esoteric testing and tracking investigations.
• Serve as a subspecialty client liaison and ensure QA compliance.
• Prepare specimens for analysis and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens within and outside of the lab.
