Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Hospital Laboratory experience 3-5 years preferred.
• Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards and must demonstrate annual CAP competencies.
• Experience with tissue handling and histology procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates hand hygiene and proper PPE usage.
• Uses two patient identifiers to ensure accuracy.
• Maintains infection control and chemical hygiene guidelines.
• Assists pathologists and technicians in grossing specimens.
• Accessions pathology specimens under supervision and documents results.
• Ensures accurate transcription of patient reports per department guidelines.
