Job summary

Discovery Life Sciences in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Laboratory Associate – Histology to support the FFPE Biorepository. You will prepare, organize, and quality-check tissue samples, working closely with Pathology and Product Management teams to ensure accurate handling and compliant records.

The role offers a fast-paced lab environment, growth opportunities, and collaboration across pathologists, IT, and project teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; life science preferred.
Histology or pathology background preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Salesforce experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure the quality of services, data, and information sent to customers and pathologists.
Ensure HIPAA requirements are followed.
Pseudonymization of samples.
Display attention to detail while handling samples.
Create and manage cases and review batches in image viewing platform.
File inventory samples in alphanumerical order.
Develop, coordinate, and enforce FFPE department systems and procedures.
Collaborate with pathologists, lab services, IT, and PMs to identify and resolve problems.
Collaborate with departments, clients, and vendors via email and video meetings.
Edit, create, and manage Excel spreadsheets and system reports.
Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
