Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a Lab Assistant II - Histology to support the preparation of histology samples for microscopic evaluation, Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

In this role you will label and prepare tissue specimens, perform routine staining, and handle reagents under supervision, while maintaining equipment and complying with safety policies. Eligible for shift differentials 10% (second shift) and 15% (third shift).

Qualifications

• One (1) year of histopathology or other laboratory experience.
• One (1) year of experience handling PHI and other patient information using an LIS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue slides for microscopic evaluation under supervision.
• Receive/collect, label and prepare tissue specimens for gross dissection.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Cover slipping of stained slides manually and automated.
• Perform routine H&E staining manually or automated.
• Process paperwork and accessioning; maintain department statistics.
