Job summary

NeoGenomics is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I for the Histology department in Aliso Viejo, CA. This entry-level position supports the technologists and helps maintain workflow in a busy clinical laboratory.

The shift is Tuesday–Saturday, 5:00am–1:30pm, with potential changes based on business needs. You will gain experience in specimen handling, data recording, and basic lab tasks while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; science courses preferred.
• Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and terminology.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Responsibilities

• Record information in lab logs and specimen sheets for QA.
• Operate equipment, print labels, and manage data recording.
• Prepare reagents under supervision of a technologist.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of lab and equipment.
• Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Handle biohazardous waste per safety procedures.
• Complete training and competency checklists as required.
• Assist with sample transfers to satellite labs and data sharing.
