Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant science or a high school/GED with two years of microtomy/histology experience.
• HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) or eligible.
• Minimum 30–35 blocks per hour; meets 90% turnaround expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform all laboratory testing required for slide preparation for pathological diagnosis.
• Demonstrate proficiency and resolve process issues affecting testing workflow.
• Instruct students, residents, and new staff; evaluate performance within deadlines.
• Serve as a technical expert for other laboratory staff; participate in training of new personnel.
• Propose improvements to workflows and quality assurance processes.
