CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Histologist to prepare tissue specimens for diagnostic evaluation. The role involves cutting, staining, and mounting slides, maintaining glassware and reagents, and ensuring specimens meet CLIA, CAP, and JCAHO standards.

You will work with pathologists to support accurate diagnoses in a busy laboratory setting. The position requires 1-2 years of histology experience and a preferred ASCP histology certification.

Qualificações

• 1-2 years of experience as a Histologist is required.
• ASCP histology certification or eligibility preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Collects, processes, and stores surgical/cytological specimens.
• Operates microtomes, embedding stations, tissue processors, staining equipment and related AP gear.
• Devises and performs routine and special stains for slide preparation for pathologist review.
• Quality control and documentation following CLIA, CAP and Joint Commission guidelines.
• Assists pathologists with frozen sections, fine needle aspirations, and autopsies.
