Christus Health is seeking a Histologist Registered to assist with cuts, stains, and mounting of human tissue specimens. Responsibilities include processing specimens, entering data into LIS, and preparing slides for pathologist review.

The position requires a histotechnology program completion, 2 years of histopathology experience, and adherence to CAP/CLIA/JCAHO standards. Work hours are 9AM–6PM, full-time.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Histotechnology Program by CAHEA/NAACLS or military equivalent required.
• Successful completion of the core educational curriculum required within one year of employment.

Aufgaben

• Collect, process, and store surgical/cytological specimens.
• Enter patient information and orders into LIS; manage cassettes.
• Prepare slides/blocks for referral and assist with frozen sections.
• Maintain grossing areas, autopsy suite, and related supplies.
• Perform routine and special stains for microscopic evaluation.
• Operate microtomes, embedding stations, tissue processors, and staining equipment.
• Assist pathologists with frozen sections, FNA, and autopsies.
• Adhere to CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, and OSHA standards.
