Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in applied science or equivalent with histology training.
• Three years' histology lab experience preferred.
• HT (ASCP) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment.
• Ensures accurate accessioning, labeling and billing of specimens.
• Ensures accurate processing and staining of specimens.
• Performs identification procedures with care.
• Performs special stains and/or enzyme histochemical stains.
• Performs additional Anatomic Pathology lab procedures as needed.
• Pursues continuing education to improve skills.
• Contributes to smooth department operations and safety practices.

Education

Associate's degree in applied science

High school diploma or GED with two years histology training

Three years' histology lab experience (preferred)

HT (ASCP) certification preferred
