UAB Medicine is seeking a candidate to train in the theory and methodology of HLA testing, enabling high-complexity assays to determine MHC compatibility for transplant recipients and donors. You will work under supervision to perform tests and report results promptly according to protocol.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical science, with no work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Train in theory and methodology of HLA testing.
• Perform high-complexity assays to determine MHC compatibility.
• Follow defined laboratory protocols and report results timely.
• Consult supervisor as needed.
