Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MLS or relevant science and one year of laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Receives and logs specimens with demographic and testing information into the laboratory database.
• Communicates with appropriate personnel to verify recipient/donor information as necessary.
• Performs histocompatibility assays such as HLA typing and crossmatching, with some senior staff assistance.
• Performs initial analysis of assays with assistance from senior staff.
• Enters results into the laboratory computer system and may create reports.
• Ensures attending physician or clinical personnel obtain patient lab results.
• Prepares and performs quality control inspections on laboratory reagents under senior staff direction.
• Monitors inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Participates in conferences and continuing education.
• Performs on-call work.
