Job summary

LifeLink Foundation, Inc. is seeking a Medical Technologist / Histocompatibility Technologist in Tampa, FL.

You will perform histocompatibility assays essential for transplant patient and donor assessment, rotating on-call to support continuous laboratory services. The role requires a four-year degree, Florida technologist certification in histocompatibility, immunology/serology, or immunohematology, and ABHI certification within three years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and Florida certification as a Technologist in histocompatibility, immunology/serology or immunohematology.
• Certification by ABHI as Certified Histocompatibility Technologist must be sought within three years of employment.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Completes specialty training under supervision in histocompatibility procedures.
• Receives, logs, and prepares specimens for analysis including blood and tissue samples.
• Performs histocompatibility typing (HLA-ABC, DR Typing) and infectious disease testing per protocols.
• Operates instruments with proper standards and controls; ensures data accuracy.
• Rotates on-call duties and reports to work within 1 hour under stat conditions.
