Job summary

Stanford Blood Center seeks a day shift supervisor for its HLA Laboratory. The ideal candidate has a CHT license, 5+ years in an HLA lab, and a related bachelor's degree. You will oversee licensed personnel in Serology/Molecular labs and coordinate clinical testing, personnel management, and administrative functions.

Under HLA Medical Directors and the Clinical Operations Manager, you will ensure regulatory compliance and serve as General Supervisor per CLIA, ASHI, and CDPH guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of histocompatibility lab experience.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or life science.
• CHT certification from ACHI; CHS certification preferred.
• Must hold or qualify for California license: MTR or MTA license.
• If out-of-state, license must be granted within 3 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight of licensed personnel in the Serology/Molecular clinical laboratories and coordination of clinical testing, personnel management, and administrative functions for the HLA laboratory.
• Maintains a broad high-level view of the laboratory's overall operations including all clinical work and regulatory compliance.
• Fulfills the duties of General Supervisor as defined by regulatory agencies (CLIA, ASHI, CDPH).

Stanford Blood Center (SBC) seeks a day shift supervisor for our HLA Laboratory. The ideal candidate must have a CHT license, at least 5 years experience in an HLA lab and a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Under the general direction of the HLA Medical Directors, and the HLA Clinical Operations Manager, the HLA Supervisor will be responsible to provide direct oversight of licensed personnel in the Serology/Molecular clinical laboratories and coordination of clinical testing, personnel management, and administrative functions for the HLA laboratory. Maintains a broad high-level view of the laboratory's overall operations including all clinical work and regulatory compliance. Fulfills the duties of General Supervisor as defined by regulatory agencies (CLIA, ASHI, CDPH).

• Must hold or qualify for California license: Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (MTR) license (you qualify if you are certified by ABHI as CHS or CHT), OR Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MTA) license (you qualify if you are certified by ASCP or AAB as a medical technologist)
• If currently out-of-state, you must apply for the California license before your first day of work, and license must be granted within 3 months of start date
