Job summary

Helping Hearts Senior Care is seeking caregivers to support clients at home in Birmingham, AL. You will assist with daily living activities, provide companionship, and help ensure safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include following care plans, reporting changes, documenting accurately, and maintaining confidentiality while promoting independence and quality of life for clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene, as permitted by the client's care plan and applicable regulations.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation as appropriate.
• Prepare and serve meals according to the client's preferences and care plan.
• Provide medication reminders as directed and permitted by applicable regulations.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, dishes, changing linens, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Assist with errands, shopping, and transportation when authorized.
• Observe and report changes in the client's physical, mental, or emotional condition to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow each client's individualized care plan and Helping Hearts Care policies and procedures.
• Maintain client privacy and confidentiality.
• Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and other members of the care team.
• Promote client independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life.
