Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) required.
• Minimum 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred.
• Strong computer software experience; Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Excellent organizational skills are a must.
• Must be able to type 50 wpm.
• Must be able to use fax, copier, scanning machines.
• Willing to learn new equipment and processes quickly; self-motivated and a team player.
• Proven customer satisfaction skills.
• Must be able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Processes release of information requests efficiently, retrieves and returns patient charts, and transmits records per requests and procedures.
• Date stamps requests and highlights pertinent data for processing.
• Validates requests and authorizations for release of information.
• Performs quality checks to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and proper invoicing.
• Maintains and handles equipment and records in a clean, organized workspace.
• Provides excellent customer service by being attentive and respectful.
