The role focuses on obtaining, organizing, and managing medical records and billing information to support legal cases. The clerk will ensure accuracy, completeness, and HIPAA compliance while handling sensitive information and coordinating with attorneys and medical providers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical records management, preferably in a legal setting.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic records systems.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Request and obtain medical records and billing information from healthcare providers.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of received records.
• Organize and maintain electronic records in a secure and confidential system.
• Track record requests and follow up with providers to ensure timely delivery.
• Respond to information requests from attorneys and other authorized personnel.
• Ensure all records and communications comply with HIPAA and legal standards.
• Assist with preparing medical record summaries or indexes, if required.
• Communicate effectively with internal legal teams and external medical providers.
