Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• RHIT/RHIA certification is preferred, but not required.
• HIPAA/privacy knowledge is beneficial.

• Reviews and validates requests for the release of medical information according to established departmental policies and procedures.
• Scans and enters requests into the release of information database application for processing.
• Determines records to be released by reviewing requester information per HIPAA guidelines.
• Coordinates with applicable departments and off-site storage vendors to obtain portions of the medical record requested.
• Processes approved requests following policies while ensuring privacy and compliance to guard against disclosures.
• Assists with walk-in customers, and processing faxes, mail, telephone inquiries, and internal requests for information.
• Performs other related duties as required.
