Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an HIM Tech II to process and analyze medical records remotely. You will ensure complete records within deadlines, and support release of information requests per guidelines.

You will collaborate with staff to secure missing data, improve workflows, and ensure data integrity across the EMR system. AHIMA certifications or eligibility are required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in health information management.
• Associate's degree from an accredited HIT/HIM program.
• Current certification or eligibility for RHIT or RHIA exam with AHIMA.

Responsibilities

• Process, analyze, and ensure medical records are complete within required time frames.
• Ensure integrity of electronic medical records through data analysis, review and reporting.
• Respond to releases of information requests according to guidelines.
• Coordinate completion of patient records and secure missing information as needed.

Will ensure the integrity of the electronic medical records through data analysis, review, and reporting. Will provide a timely response for requests of medical information according to departmental and hospital release of information guidelines. **This position is 100% remote.*** Ensures the integrity of the electronic medical record through analysis and review. Interacts and communicates with medical and professional staff to assist with research, audits, and timely completion of medical records.* Responds to requests for release of medical information for direct patient care from internal and external parties according to departmental and hospital guidelines.* Coordinates completion of patient’s medical record and ensures appropriate chart information is present and takes appropriate steps to secure any missing information.* Works with supervisor and/or manager to identify and solve problems, decrease any workflow restrictions, implement process improvements, and ensure timely completion of data collection.* Performs other duties as assigned. **What You Will Need:*** 5+ years prior relevant experience* Associate's degree from an accredited Health Information Technology/Health Information Management program (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education)* Current certification or eligibility to sit for the national exam for Registered Health Information Technology (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) by AHIMA.
