Job summary

Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization seeks a qualified health information professional to perform advanced health information activities, including release of information and patient identity management. Qualifications

• High school diploma required; an associate's degree in HIM preferred.
• RHIT/RHIA/CHPS/CHDA certifications are preferred.
• Experience in health information management or related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Review requests for medical records to identify dates of service and documents requested.
• Work in electronic health records to locate documents for release of information requests.
• Validate HIPAA-required elements and legal authority of requestors.
• Coordinate visits from Health Plan Reviewers and Research Monitors.
• Maintain and reconcile the Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) and perform chart corrections as needed.
