Job summary

Breg in Denver, CO is seeking a Health Information Management Specialist II to join our HIM team. You will review, index, and secure medical records, ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance to support accurate billing and compliant revenue cycle processes.

You will collaborate with care teams and insurers, apply LCD and medicolegal requirements, and help drive process improvements while maintaining a fast-paced, professional environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of experience in medical billing or HIM duties.
• Experience with EMR navigation, CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, orthopedic diagnoses, and medical record formats.
• Proficiency with MS Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, review, and validate medical records for completeness and accuracy.
• Research incomplete records to secure information for clean claim submission.
• Index documents and ensure proper placement in health records.
• Perform pre-scan validation of new claims and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support revenue cycle and reimbursement processes.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and privacy of PHI.
