Job summary

CalvertHealth is seeking a Health Information Management professional to assist the Operations Manager in planning, organizing and directing medical record services. The role focuses on quality control of scanned records and ensuring legibility and completeness of health information.

The candidate will act as the HIM subject matter expert, liaise with other departments, and help providers with electronic records issues. Strong communication and data-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Health Information Management (HIM).
• RHIT certification required within 1 year of job assignment.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience.
• Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies and mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Assist Operations Manager in planning, organizing and directing medical record services.
• Perform quality control to ensure integrity, completeness and legibility of scanned patient health information.
• Validate paper record to scanned images to ensure a complete legible record.
• Serve as HIM subject matter expert to all staff; liaison between HIM and other departments.
• Assist providers with electronic records issues.
