Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) is seeking a Health Information Management Quality Control Specialist to provide continuous quality review of electronic medical record functions and ensure HIM regulatory compliance.

Under the supervision of the Director of Health Information Management, you will monitor error trends, assist with backlog, verify patient data integrity, and train new HIM colleagues while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education: High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of office experience, utilizing computer systems.
• Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Knowledge of electronic capture and retrieval systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision. Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Follows HIM QC error monitoring procedures and escalates to supervisor if unable to process all errors.
• Rescans or checks and corrects index exceptions for improved quality.
• Verify patient data integrity through internal HIM QC processes and escalate when appropriate.
• Participate in workflow projects and make recommendations based on best practices.
• Perform ongoing quality checks by sampling exported patient health information.
